Privacy Policy

Effective July 8, 2026

ABC Watchlist is a private beta for tracking the shows you watch. This policy explains the basic information we collect and how we use it.

Information we collect

We collect the information needed to run the beta:

  • Your email address when you join the waitlist, receive an invite, or create an account.
  • Your account information, including your WordPress user account and login session.
  • Your watchlist data, including shows you add, progress, statuses, watched episodes, and related timestamps.
  • Signup protection data, including temporary rate-limit counters derived from your IP address and an aggregate count of honeypot form submissions.

How we use information

We use this information to operate ABC Watchlist, manage beta access, send invite and account emails, save your watchlist, prevent abuse, diagnose problems, and improve the product.

Cookies and login sessions

ABC Watchlist uses WordPress login cookies and related session technology so you can stay signed in. We may also use local browser storage for product preferences. We do not currently use advertising cookies or third-party analytics.

Security and operations

For signup rate limiting, ABC Watchlist creates a temporary counter keyed from the submitter's IP address. The public signup table does not store raw IP addresses. The site host may also create standard server logs as part of normal website hosting and security operations.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers that help us operate the site, such as hosting, email delivery, security, or backup providers. We may also disclose information if required by law or needed to protect the service and its users.

Retention

We keep account and watchlist data while your account is active or while it is needed to operate the beta. Signup rate-limit counters expire automatically after about an hour. Backups and administrative records may be kept for security, debugging, legal, or operational reasons.

Your choices

You can stop using the service at any time. If you want to request access, correction, or deletion of your account data, contact us through the same channel used for your beta invite.

Security

We use reasonable technical and operational safeguards for a small beta service, including hashed invite tokens and WordPress authentication. No online service can guarantee perfect security.

Children

ABC Watchlist is not intended for children under 13.

Changes

We may update this policy as the product changes. The effective date above will change when we make material updates.
